"Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Description - It is VERY disappointing that the right side of the root was broken off and re-attached.  This is an exceptional tooth otherwise.  It has VERY unique side cusps (cusplets), which are rounded rather than pointed.  The tooth also has a killer shape.  There is very minor damage at the tip and a few very small nicks in the blade edges, but it is otherwise quite sharp.  Please note that there is a small portion of root missing on the top, at the location of the break.

SIZE MATTERS -
Neither of the teeth in the photo to the right are included with this listing.  They are shown for demonstration purposes only.  As you may know, most Otodus obliquus teeth on the market are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches.  Occasionally you can find a larger tooth that measures 2 inches, or perhaps a bit larger.  The small tooth in the photo to the right IS one of those larger teeth, measuring 2 1/4 inches.  The tooth on the right measures 3 inches.  As you can see, a little increase in size (just 3/4 inch in this case), can make a big difference in how massive the tooth appears.  Click here for a scientific explanation of why that is.

The two teeth (left) were photographed together, to give you an accurate comparison of their size.  The photos above are close-ups and should not be used to compare sizes with the photo on the left.  You can find the size of the listed tooth (pictured above) by scrolling up.
