Description - Someone is going to love this tooth, in spite of the damage/repair.  The color is very unusual, with a blade that has a mixture of the typical tan and the unusual honey/gold.  There is slight damage to the tip, but the side cusps (cusplets) and blade edges are nice.  It appears the root was broken in several pieces and pieced back together, including re-attaching one or both side cusps (which appear to be genuine to this tooth).  The root looks decent from the front, but on the back, the repair/fill is more apparent.  I generally would price a repaired tooth a little less, but it displays well (most noticeable repair on back) and has the unique, beautiful coloring, not to mention the MASSIVE size.

SIZE MATTERS -
Neither of the teeth in the photo to the right are included with this listing.  They are shown for demonstration purposes only.  As you may know, most Otodus obliquus teeth on the market are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches.  Occasionally you can find a larger tooth that measures 2 inches, or perhaps a bit larger.  The small tooth in the photo to the right IS one of those larger teeth, measuring 2 1/4 inches.  The tooth on the right measures 3 inches.  As you can see, a little increase in size (just 3/4 inch in this case), can make a big difference in how massive the tooth appears.  Click here for a scientific explanation of why that is.

The two teeth (left) were photographed together, to give you an accurate comparison of their size.  The photos above are close-ups and should not be used to compare sizes with the photo on the left.  You can find the size of the listed tooth (pictured above) by scrolling up.
