"Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Item - MO-019

Price - $30

Slant Length - 3.15"
Width - 1.75"
Thickness - 0.85"

Description - The tip has slight damage and the blade edges have a few small nicks.  The side cusps are nice and sharp, with an interesting hook to the left side cusp.  It appears the root was broken off horizontally between the blade and side cusps, from one side to the other and the right root end also appears to have been broken off and reattached.  For the price this 3 inch tooth is going for though, you won't have any problem overlooking these flaws.

SIZE MATTERS -
Neither of the teeth in the photo to the right are included with this listing.  They are shown for demonstration purposes only.  As you may know, most Otodus obliquus teeth on the market are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches.  Occasionally you can find a larger tooth that measures 2 inches, or perhaps a bit larger.  The small tooth in the photo to the right IS one of those larger teeth, measuring 2 1/4 inches.  The tooth on the right measures 3 inches.  As you can see, a little increase in size (just 3/4 inch in this case), can make a big difference in how massive the tooth appears.  Click here for a scientific explanation of why that is.

The two teeth in the photo to the left were photographed together, to give you an accurate comparison of their size.  The photos above are close-ups and may make the tooth appear disproportionately larger than the 3" tooth (left).  So how would the tooth listed for sale here (above), look lying next to the 3 inch tooth (left)?  Scroll up to find the size.
