"Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Item - MO-008

Price - $75

Slant Length - 3.26"
Width - 1.75"
Thickness - 0.90"

Description - The color is what makes this tooth stand out (in addition to it's large size, of course).  The golden/tan blade contrasts well with the bone-white root.  There appears to be no root repair, though the left side cusp appears to have broken off and was re-attached.  The tip and blade edges are sharp, but there is some damage to the right blade edge, a short distance from the root.

Source - Morocco, in North Africa

SIZE MATTERS -
Neither of the teeth in the photo to the right are included with this listing.  They are shown for demonstration purposes only.  As you may know, most Otodus obliquus teeth on the market are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches.  Occasionally you can find a larger tooth that measures 2 inches, or perhaps a bit larger.  The small tooth in the photo to the right IS one of those larger teeth, measuring 2 1/4 inches.  The tooth on the right measures 3 inches.  As you can see, a little increase in size (just 3/4 inch in this case), can make a big difference in how massive the tooth appears.  Click here for a scientific explanation of why that is.

The two teeth (left) were photographed together, to give you an accurate comparison of their size.  The photos above are close-ups and should not be used to compare sizes with the photo on the left.  You can find the size of the listed tooth (pictured above) by scrolling up.
