Parotodus benedeni (False Mako)

The False Mako (Parotodus benedeni) shark tooth is extremely rare.  The shark is thought to be a "dead-end" species, leaving no descendants.  The tooth has a massively thick root (similar to Otodus obliquus, but no side cusps).

NOTE - You will sometimes see the name mis-spelled Parotodus benedini.
