Description - This long (2 3/4 inch plus), dagger-like, lower-jaw tooth amazingly has very little major damage. The root tips are unbroken. There are no major chips in the blade edge. The blade tip remains. The one noteworthy "problem" it has, may not actually be a problem, depend on how you look at it. There is extensive surface erosion, causing the white markings on the blade. These markings are made by plant roots leeching minerals, creating an interesting appearance. They reduce the gloss of the enamel surface (almost completely gone), smooth the tip and blade edges, and create slight depressions, where the root was in contact with the fossil. If you can get your mind around the fact that Mother Nature has "decorated" not "damaged" the fossil, you'll appreciate this VERY large shark tooth.
