 "Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Slant Length - 1.61"

Description - This tooth has some overall surface erosion, associated with the white markings (roots leaching minerals from the fossil).  The enamel surface has been polished slightly to bring back some of the gloss.  The underlying color is best described as brown, but as you can see, is much more complex on close inspection.
