"Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Description - The horizontal marking on the front of the blade is a very fine crack, which occurred prior to fossilization (filled with black mineral).  A "glass is half empty" person might see it as damage, but a "glass is half full" person would realize that it creates a very interesting marking on the tooth.  Also of interest are the two large black blotches on the back of the blade and the one on the front (below horizontal marking) that looks like a circle with dots inside it.  The mineral-filled enamel cracks (vertical black lines) also add interesting character to the tooth.  The blade tip and edges have minor damage/smoothing, primarily associated with the white markings.
