"Diffused" lighting was used for these photos, to reduce glare and better show color and detail.  The tooth's enamel will appear more glossy in person, than it does in the photos.

Description - This tooth is huge, actually only missing the 2 3/4" mark by 1/100th of an inch.  The color is interesting, in that it's trying to be the traditional creamy gray color, but just can't quite settle for something that boring.  It's got several dark streaks on the front of the enamel, running at an angle toward the edge in some places, and a touch of blue thrown in just for fun.  That small area of blue on the front of the blade might seem unreal in the photo, but it's real (best seen in natural light).  There is a large hydration crack on the front of the root, but the root appears to be whole and un-repaired.  The blade has minor damage/smoothing of the tip and edges - worst being a small chip on the back of the right blade edge (left in reverse photo) about 2/3 up from the tip.  At that same spot, begins a "sqigglely" dark crack in the enamel, which does not extend to the front of the tooth and is likely just a stress crack that occurred sometime during the last few million years (the tooth is very solid).
